Me and the family
Well, as stated before, I reside in rural Southeast Missouri, with my wife Susan, and our two sons, Bobby and Kyle. Susan is the manager of a local Diner, and I've takes some time off to nurture my garden and show it the TLC it needs:) My oldest son also works as a late night DJ at the radio station located in our town, so we have a lot that keeps us busy, but whenever it comes to gardening, we find the time.

How We got Started

Susan and I have always tried to keep a small garden, and we've always cultivated a small interest to it. We moved to Missouri in 1993, and then I had a 10,000 square foot plot disced up. However, it was never quite full, and some years we just didn't care if anything got planted at all. But a few years ago we attended a home and garden show, and met up with some Missouri Master Gardeners. The information they gave us was fascinating, so a couple of years later we ourselves became Master Gardeners.

What we plant we also sell and eat. Susan spends most of the summer canning our produce(let me tell you, the spaghetti sauce and the salsa is EXCELLENT!!!). We also can pickles, beets, tomatoes, and green beans. We also freeze some green beans along with sweet corn. Trust me, it's a delight to eat fresh garden food in the middle of winter.

Other stuff
Thanks to the Mizzou University Extension offices and the Master Gardeners' organization for developing such an interest to us. I wish I had a little more info to give, but Bobby said he'd try to dig up some and have it posted in a few days.
